In order to help you find your way around easier, we have come up with a list of Frequently Asked Questions. We will be adding to this list throughout the coming weeks as we begin to get more feedback from users. In saying that, let's begin the list.
Q. How do I add my site to ChristSites?
A. To add your site to ChristSites, click on the "add a site" button at the top of this page, or click here.
Q. Does it cost anything to have my site listed or to use your site?
A. No. We are providing a free service to the Christian community.
Q. After I list my site, I don't see it in your search engine, or in the categories that I selected. Why?
A. It will take up to 7 business days to get your site listed. The more sites that get listed, the more sites that we have to review.
Q. How do I edit my site once it has been submitted?
A. Please contact us with your Site ID number and new requirements. Changes are usually made within 5 business days.
Q. Can anyone post their site on here?
A. No. This resource is for Christian sites only. When you add your site, you must read our guidelines and policies. If your site does not fall under the criteria specified in the guidelines and policies, we will not approve your site.
Q. I noticed that you rate various sites. What if I don't want my site rated?
A. You can still list your site on ChristSites.com without having it rated. To do so, please click "I DO NOT want my site to be rated." in the Awards category of the Add Site procedure.
Q. How do you rate sites?
A. For a full explanation of how we rate sites, please go to the Awards Program.
Q. I submitted my site a long time ago, and it still hasn't been rated. Is my site really that bad?
A. If you submit your site to ChristSites and you do not receive an award (within 10 weeks), don't frown. It is very possible that we missed your site, or that one of our reviewers missed all of the great stuff on your site. Please do not submit your site again. Instead, wait 6 months from the time you first posted your site at ChristSites.com, at which point you may contact us. In the email, state that you are re-applying for an award, along with the name of your site and the web site address (URL).
Q. How do I get my site listed as a Top Site?
A. If you are a webmaster, and you have already added your site to our search engine, then you should have received an email explaining how to put the voting button on your page. Please note that your vote button will not be activated until your site is activated. What this means is that your votes will not count until your site is approved by one of our representatives. If at any time, you lose your instructions on "how to add a voting button to your site", you may click on "Top Site Info" beside your site (providing it is activated in our search engine) to get the directions again. Each day, the votes are calculated. If your site received one of the top five vote totals for the day, then you will be listed on our front page, the following day.
Q. Do you have a banner that I could put on my web site?
A. Yes, we have a list of banners for you to choose from. Click here to see all of our banners.
Q. How do I put a search box on my site that will enable people to search through ChristSites?
A. If you are a webmaster, and you have already added your site to our search engine, then you should have received an email explaining how to put the search engine on your page. If you can't find the email, no problem -- click here for the code.
Q. I would like to email ChristSites members to tell them about my site. Is this OK?
A. Although your site may be really great, please refrain from going through ChristSites for the sole purpose of emailing other members. The email address provided with each site is to be used for the sole purpose of contacting them about THEIR site. If you are found spamming the ChristSites list, your site will be removed and your access will be restricted. In addition, we reserve the right to report you to your ISP or other authorities.
Q. I noticed that you have advertising banners throughout your site. How can I advertise in those spots?
A. Advertising banners are paid positions on our site. For full advertising rates, please contact us.
Q. I am concerned with some of the content on a site listed in your search engine. What should I do?
A. First and foremost, contact the site in question. Make them aware of your concerns. If there is a pornographic link or other such links on the website in question, please let us know and we will also contact the site and take away their listing if the accusation is proved correct. If there is a theological or doctrinal difference and you feel led to speak about this to someone, please contact the site in question directly. Please view our statement of faith for reasons why we allow the variety of sites that we do.
Q. I placed an order with a website in your search engine and still haven't received it. When can I expect to receive this?
A. We are not directly associated with the sites within our search engine therefore, we have no control over how they run their businesses. Please contact them directly for any questions you may have concerning your order.
Q. I want to be removed from a mailing list on one of the websites listed in your search engine. Can you do this?
A. We do not control the mailing lists of the websites listed in our search engine. If you would like to be removed from a mailing list of a specific site, please contact them directly to make your request. We do not send mail-outs on a regular basis and the only people who receive them are those who have a website listed in our search engine.
